Alejandra Botero has been Director General of the Department of Planning in Colombia since August 2021. Prior to that, she was Advisor to the President for Management and Compliance, leading the implementation of key initiatives such as the creation of Compliance Units, aimed at improving public management in different areas of the country.
Previously, she coordinated the Enterprise Innovation Program at CAF, a regional program focused on boosting private sector innovation investment in Latin America, after being a co-founder and director of the Impact Hub Caracas, a coworking space for entrepreneurs. Prior to that, she worked at McKinsey & Company, designing different development programs.
Ms. Botero is an economist and political scientist who graduated from Swarthmore College and has an MBA from Columbia University.
