Alicia Herbert

Alicia Herbert, OBE, is Director of the Education, Gender and Equality Directorate (EdGE), and Special Envoy for Gender Equality at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Alicia has over 20 years of experience working internationally. Prior to joining the Department for International Development (DFID) now the FCDO, in 1999, she worked with a range of organisations including the World Bank and the Policy Studies Institute. Alicia was previously Head of DFID Mozambique and has extensive experience in the field, working in Sub Saharan Africa and Asia including in fragile countries
