Salina is a passionate advocate for youth involvement in solutions to environmental challenges. Salina is currently studying for a Master’s in Public Policy at Harvard and is a strategic advisor at the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF), where she supports the development of programs that support local community action in support of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. Salina’s academic work has focused on corporate social responsibility programs in Eritrea as well as female leadership in economics and finance across Africa. She is also a former President of the International Forestry Students’ Association and coordinator of the Youth in Landscapes Initiative.
Most recently, Salina was the co-moderator for #Youth4ClimateLive, a series of virtual events hosted by the Italian Ministry for Ecological Transition in collaboration with the World Bank Group’s Connect4Climate and the Office of the UN Secretary General’s Envoy on Youth. Salina serves on the World Economic Forum 1t.org Advisory Council, the UN FAO Forest and Farm Facility Steering Committee and is a former focal point to the UN Forum on Forests for the Major Group Children and Youth.
